(Atlantic) Student enrollment at the Atlantic Community School District is up again this year.
Atlantic Schools Superintendent Steve Barber reported an increase of 40.9 students served this school year, bringing the total to 1,517. Compared to the added 59 students last year, this brings an increase of 100 students over the past two years.
The 2022-2023 student enrollment breakdown shows resident students at 1,357, an increase of 16.3 students, both OEO and tuition out. Resident students attending other schools were 43, an increase of 10 students, and home school students were 2.15, a 0.39 change. The certified number is 26.69 students, for a total of 1,401.
The number of non-resident public students attending Atlantic is 158.1, 23 more than last school year. The Pre-Kindergarten through fourth grade statewide voluntary preschool is four students less than one year ago (does not include IEP four-year-olds). The total number of school-aged students served in Atlantic is 1,517, an increase of 40.9. The figures also include 5.5 more E.L. students.

*The School Board accepted the $30,000 Life Insurance money and transferred it to the Atlantic School foundation to distribute according to the families’ wishes.
