(Council Bluffs) The Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors this morning approved an amendment to an agreement for services between MAPA and Pottawattamie County for flood property acquisitions.
Matt Wyant, Director of Planning and Development, said they were awarded the remaining funding they needed to purchase the properties in Pottawattamie County that were cut off by the 2019 flood and those individuals would like to sell their properties to get out of the flood plain.
Wyant said all of the people that said they would be interested in having their property purchased under the buyout process have been identified. He said some individuals have dropped out of the buyout.
The Supervisors then approved the low bid from Terracon in the amount of $6,400 for the asbestos survey and monitoring of abatement.
The Supervisors also approved the selection of a firm for legal services for the 2019 flood. The low bid came from Petersen Law PLLC in the amount of $18,000 for all of the homes and they will also sub-contract for title reports at $295 each and title certificates at $175 each, bringing to the total bid to $22,700.
