(Tabor) Fremont-Mills and Lenox square off in this 8-player District #9 football game with a lot on the line. Both teams are undefeated in district play. Lenox is 7-0 overall, and Fremont-Mills is 6-1.
Fremont Mills Head Coach Greg Ernster has a lot of respect for the Lenox football team and what they have done over the past years.
Lenox has piled up 2,367 yards of offense, 1,848 on the ground. The Knights bring a similar offense scheme to the table with 2,461 yards of offense and 2,103 yards rushing.
Coach Ernster notes Lenox lost an excellent offensive line to graduation, but it is just the next man up for Lenox blocking for two good running backs. Isaac Grundman leads the team in rushing with 85-carries for 879 yards and 21 touchdowns.
After an early season loss to a good CAM football team, Fremont-Mills has clicked off six straight wins, averaging 53 points per game while allowing the opposition to 13 points per contest.
Braxton Blackburn and Payten Van Houton lead the Knights’ rushing attack with 724 and 636 yards, respectively. Coach Ernster talks about the offensive line making holes for the ball carriers.
Turnovers are always a factor in games like this. Fremont-Mills gobbled up ten fumbles this season and no interceptions. Lenox had 13 interceptions and eight fumble recoveries.
The kick-off is at 7:00 p.m. at Lenox.
