(NAFB) Rural communities face extra challenges when it comes to the COVID-19 pandemic. While there were once concerns over vaccine availability and access to medical care, there are other issues that impact rural communities, as well.
Dr. Tom Ellison is the Medical Services Director for Project H.E.L.P. USA. He says the same challenges rural America faces with broadband and transportation also impacted access to the COVID-19 vaccines.
A new targeted vaccine booster is available now. Dr. Ellison calls it an update to improve the vaccine.
He says when it comes to the COVID-19 vaccines and boosters, it’s important to talk with a trusted source.
Dr. Ellison adds there’s a chance COVID cases will surge again this fall and winter.
