(Adel) A lot is on the line when ADM travels to Harlan in Week 7. The Tigers and the Cyclones will come your way on KSOM Friday night with our live video stream available HERE.
ADM coach Garrison Carter comments on the magnitude of this one. “You try not to let one game define your season. We try to take them one at a time, but it’s obviously one that is in the back of your mind all the time. Just a chance to go play one of the premier programs in the state year in and year out. It’s certainly a good measuring stick opportunity. We are certainly excited for it.”
The teams rank 1-2 in touchdowns for Class 3A. ADM has the state’s top rushing attack while Harlan is #1 in passing touchdowns and second in passing yardage. It’s a second straight big test for an ADM that that had little trouble with top ten ranked Creston last week, downing the Panthers 38-7. “It starts up front. I’m really excited about what our ‘O’ and ‘D’ line have been doing. On top of that we have some really good guys carrying the ball behind them. So I thought that was good. Really excited to see our defense step up. Creston was an offense that had posed a lot of matchup issues and had done some really good things throughout the year. To hold them to seven points and limit what they’ve been able to do successfully was a really encouraging thing for us. Hopefully we can keep those things going into this one.”
The Tigers aren’t going to be intimidated by Harlan. “Harlan wins a lot of games,” Coach Carter says, “Because they are Harlan.” Carter adds, “Being able to understand and make sure it’s just another football game. At the end of the day the team that blocks and tackles and takes care of the football is going to win. Don’t let the moment get too big for you.
ADM is averaging 44.5 points per game and allowing 17. Harlan averages 49.5 and allows
