(Des Moines, IA) — Iowa’s governor has signed a letter to President Biden opposing his plan to forgive student loan debt. Governor Kim Reynolds joined 21 other governors in signing the letter sent to the White House Monday. Reynolds says she supports making higher education more affordable for students – but not at the expense of taxpayers. The letter from the Republican governors ties rising inflation to what they call the Biden administration’s tax-and-spend agenda. It says even economists from the Democratic Party oppose it. The letter asks President Biden to immediately withdraw his plan.
