Update: One person transported to the hospital following an accident in Atlantic

(Atlantic) One person was transported to the hospital following an accident at 9^th & Oak Streets in Atlantic Monday afternoon.

The Atlantic Police Department says Brock Henderson, of Wiota, was driving eastbound on 9^th Street and ran the stop sign at 9^th and Oak, making contact with a vehicle driven by Jason Larson of Atlantic. Henderson’s vehicle came to rest against the bumper of a parked vehicle owned by Shannon Nielsen of Atlantic.

Henderson was transported to the Cass Health. Larson was checked by EMS at the scene and refused transport.

Henderson was cited for Stop Sign Violation.

The damage to Henderson’s vehicle was estimated at $6,000. The damage to Larson’s vehicle was estimated at $20,000. The damage to Nielsen’s vehicle was estimated at $3,000.
