(Atlantic) The Atlantic High School Cross Country Team is hosting a “glow run” at Midnight at the Trojan Bowl.
“We always time our runners in a mile, so we’re going to do it differently this year and time their mile at midnight,” said Atlantic Head Coach Dan Vargason. “This year, we’re opening this “glow run” to the public. We don’t want a donation; we want the public to come out, have a good time, and interact with the team.
“We realize a lot of people have to get up and work in the morning, but with the volleyball scrimmage on Thursday and the football scrimmage on Friday, we wanted to make sure we weren’t stepping on football, volleyball, and swimming,” said Vargason. “We are giving it a shot, and if it goes well, we will schedule it for a Friday on a different week and make this a cool event.”
The team will hold time trials on August 23 and travel to Glenwood for the opening meet on August 27.
