(Oakland) Riverside starts the cross country season with the Abraham Lincoln meet on September 3rd at Iowa Western.
The Bulldogs will be led by returning state qualifier Mason McCready. Coach Alex Oliver reports the team put in a good body of work during the offseason, especially with their summer running club. “We met four days a week and were averaging 15-20 miles per week with 25 on our heavier weeks. Those kids are in pretty good shape right now.”
The roster features a good mix of returning experience and promising youngsters. “Mason McCready comes back as a returning state qualifier and he’s looking good right now. We have Eric Duhachek as a senior. He’s always a guy that gets a ton of miles and is dedicated to it. Another guy that’s run with us for multiple seasons is Caleb Stevens. Then we have Dalton Smith who will be a junior. A pair of freshmen–Dawson and Brody Henderson–and they had a really good track season last year in their distance races.”
