(Des Moines, IA) — A man who turned himself in to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Monday has been charged with first-degree murder.
Thirty-eight-year-old Courtney Shane Smith is being held in the Polk County Jail with an initial court appearance scheduled for Wednesday. Fifty-one-year-old Scott Crane’s body was found August 6th. He had been shot to death.
The investigation resulted in a material witness warrant being issued for Smith. Smith turned himself in Monday.
