(Harlan) Tyler Shelton is gone to graduation, but most of the rest of team remains intact for Harlan boys cross country.
Cyclone coach Zach Klaassen welcomes back a lot of familiar faces. “Kaiden Milliken, Joseph Bragg, Seth Anderson, Ian Shelton, Keaton Heileson, all those kids ran varsity last year and they are all back for us and hopefully a year stronger. It seems like our girls team have always done a good job of training all through the summer and it looks like summer the boys have finally put in some miles compared to the past. Hopefully we are going to keep everybody a little bit healthier that way.”
Doug Renkly retired after last season. Promoted to head coach was his longtime assistant years, Zach Klaassen. “Coach Renkly was a great coach. I coached with him for 15 years and have grown as a coach because of him. There’s no reason to change everything overnight. We are pretty consistent on what we’ve done and I think it’s good for the kids and their comfort level.”
Harlan runs at Glenwood on August 27th for their season opener.
