(Adair Co.) Recycling bins in Adair County have stopped accepting plastic.
The change took effect today. Adair County Board of Supervisors Chairman Matt Wedemeyer explained the changes during a meeting in June.
The recycling bins in all of the communities will have the plastic section re-labeled to mixed paper. There will be a plastic recycling bin at the Landfill so if anyone wants to continue to recycle plastic, they can take it there during business hours. Otherwise, the bins in the towns will only accept glass, tin cans, cardboard and mixed paper.
