(Area) Twenty-one baseball players were selected as first team academic all state players by the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association.
First team picks from the area include Payton Chapman (Treynor), Justin Hackett (Winterset), Easton Hays (Coon Rapids-Bayard), Miles Kading (ACGC), Jack Pettit (Van Meter), Gavin Smith (Audubon), Lane Spieker (CAM), and Cade Ticknor (CAM).
Second team picks from Southwest Iowa are Gage Clausen (Missouri Valley), Brady Coffman (Treynor), JC Dermody (Lewis Central), Cody Gilpin (Missouri Valley), Will Gutzmer (Missouri Valley), Cal Wanninger (Kuemper Catholic), and Braden Wessel (Audubon).
