Christopher Levi Petersen was born on November 12, 1975, in Harlan, IA to Patty Petersen/Hogue. Chris grew up with three sisters Michelle, Shannon, and Robin. As a child, Chris enjoyed sitting in the creek with our dog Coco, swimming in the pool, playing with blocks, puzzles, sensory items, tearing paper, and playing the “catch me game”. Chris attended several schools for special needs until finding his forever home at Opportunity Living in Lake City, IA on July 12, 1996. There is where he learned a lot, enjoyed many activities, and made many friends with staff and residents. Chris had many OCDs, he was very adamant about the things he wanted, through the years staff learned his idiosyncrasies and learned to live in his world. One of his favorite past times was swinging. He enjoyed it so much that he had a personal swing in his bedroom. He was very fond of his junk food and meals in general. Chris was a private man. Chris passed away on July 13, 2022, at the age of 46 at home in Lake City, IA where he resided for 26 years.
Chris is survived by his mother Patty, his sister Michelle and her children Paige and Jesse, sister Shannon and her children Erynn and Tyler, his sister Robin her husband Ricky and their son Reggy. His grandmother Patricia, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Chris is proceeded in death by his grandfather Levi Petersen, his nephews Little Ricky III, and Kevin Marshall, also our family dog Coco.
