(Iowa City, IA) — The first images have been captured by NASA’s new James Webb Space Telescope and an Iowa scientist is impressed.
Professor Keri Hoadley is an expert on far-ultraviolet astrophysics at the University of Iowa. Hoadley says her first impression of what she was seeing was, “Wow!” The 10-billion-dollar Webb is the most powerful telescope ever launched into space. It replaces the Hubble Space Telescope.
Hoadley says the Webb is offering “a whole new view of the universe in ways that Hubble cannot,” but with more detail.
