(Audubon) Audubon County Economic Development is accepting grant applications for community projects beginning July 1st.
Sara Slater with ACED lays out the application process. “You can get them at the Audubon County Economic Development and Tourism Office. We can e-mail them, you just have to contact our office. We will review applications September 1st.”
$600,000 is available from the proceeds of the Valley Business Park sale. “You’re going to need your project description. We would like to hear about your project and what the impact will be to the community and to the county. Are these creating jobs, are these helping retain jobs? Is this expansion? All different types of criteria we are looking at. Then you are going to have your budget. What the project is and where you are at and the impact. It’s a pretty simple application and our board will review it and we will award projects at our discretion.”
Slater says they had a good response during their public meeting on June 16th. “A great turnout from all of our communities which was really positive. Lots of great questions and conversation. We are here to help answer questions or run past ideas. We want to see exciting projects happening here.”
Grant recipients will be announced on October 1st.
