(Shenandoah) The Shenandoah Police Department stated on social media late Tuesday night that they will no longer be issuing warnings due to the number of complaints about fireworks on Tuesday night.
According to Police, fireworks may only be used within Shenandoah City limits from July 1 through July 3 until 10 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. on Monday, July 4. Authorities say unlawful use of fireworks is a $300.00 fine, a simple misdemeanor citation into court.
In 2017, the Iowa legislature passed a bill allowing the sale and consumer use of fireworks, prompting Cities to draft their ordinances. Some examples of those ordinances are listed below:
Atlantic-July 2,3 and 4, Noon to 11:00 p.m. each day.
Audubon-July 2-July 5, 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Harlan-July 4, Noon to 11:00 p.m.
