Pearle Arlette Ludwig was born on February 23, 1928 in Boston, Massachusetts, the eldest child of Stanley and Norma Densmore. Pearle passed away on January 29, 2022 in her San Bernardino, California home.
Pearle lived in Framingham, Massachusetts at Waveney Farm where she attended elementary and high school. After graduating from college at Framingham State University and receiving her Master of Education Degree, she moved to California to teach in San Bernardino.
Pearle married Glen Ludwig, the love of her life, on November 20, 1960. Over the years she helped Glen with his many business ventures but was always a teacher at heart. She loved teaching. It was “her happiness.” Pearle taught elementary school at Parkside and Arrowhead until her retirement. Upon retirement, Pearle continued working with students at the Reading Lab of a local school with her dear friend, Olga, and supervised student teachers for California State University. She also was the author of a professional book on teaching, “Excellence for Kids”, as well as several children’s books. One was titled “Safari”, inspired after returning from a safari in Kenya, Africa with Glen. Pearle and Glen will continue supporting education through “The Pearle and Glen Foundation Scholarship” that was established to make available a $2000 scholarship to all graduates of the Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton Community School District beginning with the Class of 2022 who plan to further their education. Pearle also volunteered at the Humane Society teaching groups of children about wildlife with bears being her favorite topic. She always had a love for animals and numerous pets.
Pearle enjoyed traveling with Glen on their yearly trips to Hawaii, Jackson, Wyoming and Exira, Iowa to celebrate the 4th of July with family. She loved to entertain at her home and welcomed all graciously. Pearle decorated model homes for Glen’s development business in Arizona and enjoyed spending time there with him.
Pearle touched so many lives. She was faith filled and devoted to her family, friends and students. She gave of her time freely, always helping those in need. Pearle always made each of us feel special, seeing the good in everyone. She was loving, generous, fun loving and kind. Our timeless and ageless dear Pearle will forever be in our hearts. She will live on in our memories and hearts!
Pearle is survived by her devoted husband of over 61 years, Glen Ludwig, her sisters-in-law, Nadine Ludwig and Jan Ludwig, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Norma Densmore, her sister, Dorothy Densmore, brother, Stanley Densmore, father-in-law and mother-in-law William and Anna Ludwig, brothers-in-law Darwin Ludwig, Bill Ludwig, and Marvin and wife Donna Thygesen, niece Teresa Boysen, nephew Danny Densmore and her best friends Tom and Olga Keating.
