(Massena) Tiffany South, Head Coach for the cooperative girl’s wrestling team, is hosting a meeting on Friday, at 10 a.m. at the CAM South School gymnasium in Massena, for student-athletes interested in competing from CAM, Atlantic, and three other schools invited to join the program pending their school board’s approval; Griswold, Nodaway Valley, and Southwest Valley.
Coach South encourages any interested female 9-through-12 grade, those with experience, and those without experience to attend Friday’s meeting.
South says wrestling is an excellent opportunity for girls.
The CAM South School is located at 206 6th Street in Massena.
In April, the IGHSAU Board of Directors voted on recommendations by the IGHSAU Wrestling Advisory Committee. The first day of practice is Monday, October 31, and the first eligible competition date is Monday, November 14; Regional Tournaments will be held in late January, with the State Tournament on Thursday and Friday, February 2 and February 3. Cooperative sharing is available for schools up until November 1, 2022.
