(Adair Co.) Two people were arrested on drug charges in Adair County.
The Adair Police Department arrested 55-year-old Terrance Foster, of La Crosse, Wisconsin, following a traffic stop near the I-80 eastbound ramp and 5th Street in Adair on June 18th. While running Foster’s information, Foster called an emergency 911 communications center knowing that he was not reporting an emergency. A probable cause search was conducted after the officer noticed an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A green leafy substance inside the butt of a cigar was located that field tested positive for marijuana. Two boxes with a total of nine vacuum sealed bags containing a green leafy substance and a plastic grocery sack with $1,800 in cash was also located. Foster was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana) 2nd, Drug Tax Stamp Violation, Controlled Substance Violation, and False Report to Public Entity. He was held on $5,000 cash or surety bond.
The Adair County Sheriff’s Office arrested 42-year-old Justin Alan Robertson, of Greenfield, on June 17th after Deputies observed him driving near the intersection of Highway 92 and Highway 25 in Greenfield. Robertson was known to have an active warrant through Union County. During the stop, Robertson admitted he had marijuana on him. A Ziplock bag containing a green plant material and a glass pipe were located. Robertson was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana) 2nd, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Driving under Suspension. He was also arrested on warrants out of Union County for two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana) 2nd and Stalking – Violation of a Protective Order. Robertson was released on his own recognizance on the Adair County charges and was turned over to Union County authorities.
In other activity, the Greenfield Police Department arrested 62-year-old Kevin Eugene Nelson, of Greenfield, on June 18th after officers were called to the 400 block of 1st Street for a report from a woman who said the neighbor was shooting at her husband. Officers spoke with a male victim who advised he was working on his truck when Kevin Nelson started arguing with him from his truck. Nelson exited his truck and came face to face arguing with the male. The victim said Nelson hit him, knocking him to the ground and they began to wrestle. Nelson was carrying a Smith & Wesson 38 Special on his left hip holster, which fell out as they were wrestling. Nelson grabbed the gun and pointed the gun at the man, who then ran off back into his house. Nelson was charged with Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon and Assault with Bodily Injury. He was held on $10,000 cash or surety bond.
The Greenfield Police Department arrested 43-year-old Bree Meredith Whipps and 32-year-old David Gene Robbins Jr, both of Indianola, on June 15th for Burglary 3rd Degree. Witnesses saw the two take tent frames that did not belong to them. Robbins also had two outside warrants. Whipps was released on her own recognizance. Robbins was held on $5,000 cash or surety bond and an additional hold for the warrants.
The Adair County Sheriff’s Office arrested 47-year-old Dana Sue Dawkins, of West Des Moines, following a traffic stop on I-80 on June 13th for OWI 1st Offense. Dawkins was held on $1,000 cash or surety bond.
The Sheriff’s Office arrested 42-year-old Brandon James Wilson of Fort Worth, Texas, on June 14th on a warrant for three counts of Burglary 3rd Degree. Wilson was held on $5,000 cash or surety bond.
The Adair Police Department cited 34-year-old Kelsey Michael Wilson, of Adair, on June 15th for Criminal Mischief 5th Degree after she broke out a window with her hand during an argument. Wilson was released.
