(Audubon) The Audubon softball team posted a 2-1 day on Saturday with wins against Coon Rapids-Bayard and Panorama along with a loss to MVAOCOU. Wheeler coach Eric Borkowski got his 100th and 101st career victories.
The tourney started with a 22-1 decision over Panorama. The Wheeler lineup slugged out fifteen hits. Mattie Nielsen was 2/5 with a homer and three RBI. Jordan Mulford had two hits and five runs driven in. Kylee Hartl and Alexis Obermeier each had three hits. Hannah Thygesen, Kylee Hartl, Addie Hocker, Michell Brooks, Victoria Asmus, and Alexis Obermeier drove in two runs each. Kali Irlmeier struck out 11 batters and allowed six hits along with two walks in the six inning contest. Audubon scored seven in the first, two more in the 2nd, and plated 13 runs in the 6th inning.
The Wheelers lost 8-2 against MVAOCOU. Michelle Brooks hit a home run. Victoria Asmus and Mattie Nielsen each had one hit. Alexis Obermeier struck out nine batters, but Audubon allowed five unearned runs.
In game three it was Audubon over Coon Rapids-Bayard 13-5. Addie Hocker hit a double. Kali Irlmeier and Alex Obermeier each drove in two runs.
