(Atlantic) The Cass County Board of Supervisors approved new employees for the Treasurer’s Office.
The two new employees include Bailey Smith and Kayla Imhoff. Bailey Smith, who is NOT the Atlantic Chamber Director, was hired at $18 per hour. Kayla Imhoff was hired as a Deputy and her salary is at the discretion of Treasurer Tracey Marshall. These new hires will put the Treasurer’s Office at full staff.
Due to a staffing shortage, the Treasurer’s Office had been operating on reduced hours. Marshall was asked about the current status of her office…
In other news, the Supervisors approved the Wellness Coordinator Contract on a three to two vote. The position is a 28E between four organizations; Cass County, ISU Extension, Cass Health and the YMCA. The contribution from the county is going up $1,000 to $7,000 for next year. A motion was made to keep the funding at $6,000, but that motion failed to pass. A motion was then made to fund $7,000, which passed three to two.

Bernard Pettinger and John Hartkopf voted no. Hartkopf said he is against the raise.
The Board then held a discussion on the continuation of Zoom meetings. The Supervisors agreed to continue to hold the meetings via zoom, but all visitors, whether they are virtual or in-person, must identify themselves with a first and last name. A call-in option will also be added for individuals to attend via phone.
The Supervisors also officially approved resolutions for ARPA funding as previously presented for the Drone Program and the Cass County Fire Departments. The board also approved a standard resolution for ARPA funding forms.
