(Audubon) An informal offer has been extended for the IT position in Audubon County.
Until a full-time employee is on board, the county has also entered discussions with Heartland Business Systems for their technology needs. “There might be some counter offers as far as salary. It’s in flux. We are waiting on that one. We had a conference call with Heartland Business Systems. They are an excellent company with a good reputation. We were referred to them by the ICIT group which does a lot of business with them. They are going to try and get us on board so they can take care of our IT needs for the short term here this summer.”
Audubon County Supervisor’s Chairman Doug Sorensen, in other news, says rates have been raised for election workers to $15 per hour for the lead employees and $13.50 per hour for other election workers. This is an increase of over $4 per hour. “That was a pretty significant change, but you’re talking about a couple of days of the year. A few workers is not a big amount of money, so that was justified.” Sorensen says it’s the first increase in around ten years.
