(Atlantic) Judge Amy Zacharias approved the defense’s request for a continuance for the State versus Alison Dorsey. The trial scheduled for June 20 continues until 9:30 a.m. on December 5, 2022. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. on November 29, 2022.
Dorsey is on trial for the death of an infant while in her care in October 2019. The State charged Dorsey with First Degree Murder and Child Endangerment resulting in death. Last fall, the case went in front of a jury in Cass County District Court but was declared a mistrial on November 4 because of a deadlocked jury.
In the meantime, the judge approved a request for a change of venue to Pottawattamie County District Court in Council Bluffs.
