(Des Moines) A strong storm swept through the southwest region of the state on Tuesday evening carrying high winds, and hail. The storm left a path of flattened crops and downed trees and power lines. The National Weather Service reported a 67-mile-per-hour wind gust one-mile west of Atlantic, and half inch hail one mile northeast of Atlantic. A 68-mile-per-hour wind gust was reported two miles south of Creston. The storm blew the roof off a structure, uprooted trees one mile northwest of Creston, and damaged an outbuilding two miles south of Creston.
