(Red Oak) The Montgomery County Board of Supervisors accepted the resignation of County Auditor Stephanie Burke with regret and gratitude. Burke stood before the Board of Supervisors this morning and read her resignation letter.
Burke has accepted the Business Official and Board Secretary position at the Stanton Community School District.
The Board echoed similar sentiments thanking Stephanie Burke for all she’s done for the County.
Pursuant to Iowa Code, the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors intends to make an appointment to fill the vacancy in the office of Montgomery County Auditor at 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, in the Board of Supervisor’s meeting room at the Montgomery County Courthouse in Red Oak, Iowa. The person appointed will conduct the duties of that position until the seat appears on the November 8, 2022, General Election ballot. Persons interested in the appointment must submit a letter of interest and a resume no later than June 30, 2022, at 4:30 p.m. Requirements must be sent to the Montgomery County Auditor’s Office, Attn: Chairman Mark Peterson, 105 E Coolbaugh, PO Box 469, Red Oak, Iowa, 51566. They can be mailed, hand-delivered or put in the drop box located at the Courthouse.
