(Atlantic) Wendy Richter defeated Incumbent John Hartkoph in a close race for the Republican nomination for District #3 County Supervisor.
Richter garnered 255-votes to Hartkoph’s 232. Richter is a life-long Cass County and worked and held numerous positions on local boards, including regional and state boards and committees. She worked as the Director of the Family Crisis Support Network, serving eight counties in southwest Iowa. She also worked with the State of Iowa and numerous other entities and started programs to bring public and private funds to the area.
Incumbent District #2 Supervisor Mark O’Brien ran unopposed on the Republican ticket and received 229 votes. Republican County Treasurer Tracy Marshall ran unopposed and garnered 1,193 votes, and Mary Ward running unopposed in the Republican Primary for County Recorder, received 1,379 votes.
No candidates were running for County Offices in the Democratic Primary.
