Graveside funeral services for Jerry Ray Jamison of Elliott will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at the Hillside Cemetery at Elliott, Iowa. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 p.m. to -7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak, Iowa.
Jerry Ray Jamison, of Elliott, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak. Jerry was born in Red Oak, Iowa, the son of Clyde and Rose (Gustafson) Jamison. He was raised and lived the majority of his life in Elliott, Iowa. He graduated from Griswold Community High School and started his working career with Star Agri in Red Oak. He later worked for D & L, which became Romech from where he retired. Jerry then attended a program in Auto Body at Southwestern Community College in Creston. He worked for American Hydraulics, Finish Line Trailers, and again retired from H & H Trailers about a year ago. He spent most of his career as a welder. Jerry loved music and playing the drums. He was currently a member of several bands. He also loved motorcycles, but nothing meant as much to him as his family and the grandkids. Jerry also loved his pets, especially his dog Lucy, whom he loved eating ice cream with.
Jerry is survived by his wife: Lisa Jamison of Elliott, IA; children: Misty Schwarte and significant other Bobby Filloon of Red Oak, IA; Josh Schwarte of Red Oak, IA; and Jolene Amos and husband Robert of Griswold, IA; grandchildren: Adam Ienn of Red Oak, IA; Morgin Ienn of Sioux City, IA; Harley Schwarte of Red Oak, IA; and Zoey, Gunner, Ellie, and Thor Amos all of Griswold, IA; sister: Ramona Petty of Clarinda, IA; brothers: Charles Jamison and wife Judi of Omaha, NE and Dennis Jamison and significant other Rhonda Lyden of Lewis, IA; and many other relatives and friends.
