(Pottawattamie Co.) Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident in Pottawattamie County Friday afternoon.
The Iowa State Patrol says 28-year-old Betsy Shaddy of Neola was transported to Jennie Edmundson Hospital by Underwood Fire and Rescue. 28-year-old Patrick Drazkowski and 26-year-old Mitchell Drazkowski, both of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, were transported to Mercy Hospital by Council Bluffs Fire and Rescue.
According to the report, Betsy Shaddy was driving a 2004 Honda Element eastbound on Interstate 80 near the 11 mile marker when it crossed the median and struck a westbound 2018 Ford Econo, driven by Patrick Drazkowski. The Honda Element went into the west ditch. The Ford Econo flipped multiple times before coming to rest just off Interstate 80 in the ditch.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this incident and the crash remains under investigation.
