(Missouri Valley) An Omaha teenager died when his car collided with a semi on Interstate 29 near Missouri Valley.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at 5:50 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, in the southbound lanes near the 70-mile marker; authorities say a 17-year-old male died at the fiery crash scene.
According to the report, a northbound 2014 Subaru Forester driven by the 17-year-old Omaha teen drifted into the southbound lane in the construction zone and collided with the southbound 2016 International Semi driven by 39-year-old Robert D. Taylor of Pensacola, Florida. The semi came to rest in the ditch. The Subaru became fully engulfed in flames. The driver of the semi, Robert Taylor, escaped injury.
