(Atlantic) On Wednesday, the Atlantic City Council approved a joint agreement for the Airport bridge repair project with the County.
Cass County Engineer Trent Wolken says the joint County-City project is on west 6th Street over the Nishnabotna River. Contractors will repair the abutments, replace steel beams and bring them back up to its’ legal load rating of 80,000 pounds. Currently, the bridge is carrying a three-ton load limit. Wolken’s office received five bids, with the low bid at $392,414.00.
Trent Wolken says the Cass County Board of supervisors will act on the joint agreement next week.
Wolken tells KSOM/KS95 News the project wouldn’t start until 2023.
