(Oakland) The Riverside girls brought home five medals from the state track meet and have all of their personnel returning.
The Lady Dawgs placed at state in the 4X400, Shuttle Hurdle, 4X200, 200 Meter Dash, and 100 Meter Dash. “I’m pretty excited. We had a pretty good season last year, so I’m looking forward to getting into it this year.” That’s Riverside coach Jared Hoffman who saw his team compete well at the IATC Indoor Iowa State Meet in Ames. “I didn’t know where we’d be at especially with training since we are only a couple of weeks in, but the girls really competed well. They got after it. We had some real good performances from individuals and our relay teams did real good.”
Riverside has a very quality core returning along with some exciting youngsters to add to the mix. Those athletes include, but aren’t limited to: Veronica Andrusyshyn, Izzy Bluml, Emma Gordon, Lydia Erickson, Macy Woods, Becca Cody, Carly Henderson, Veronica Schechinger, Ayla Richardson, and Elly Henderson. It gives the team plenty of options to work with. “We have some good freshman and some other girls coming in that can kind of give us some leeway for where we want to put people throughout the year.”
Riverside will compete in an indoor meet at Concordia on Friday.
