Creighton comes up short of #8 Villanova in Big East Final

(New York, NY) Creighton fell to 8th ranked Villanova 54-48 on Saturday in the championship game of the Big East Tournament. The Bluejays were within two points in the final minute, but couldn’t pull off the upset.

Ryan Kalkbrenner posted a team high 19 points to go along with 8 rebounds and 3 blocks. Alex O’Connell scored 10 points. Creighton shot only 3/29 (10.3%) from 3-point range. Ryan Hawkins had 2 points, 8 rebounds, and 1 assist.

Creighton’s record moves to 22-11 on the season.
