Lee Ann Hansen, age 56, of Atlantic, IA, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, from injuries sustained in an auto accident near her home.
Lee Ann (Morgan) Hansen was born June 27, 1965, in Atlantic, Iowa. She was the daughter of Bill and Marge (Sessums) Morgan. Lee Ann grew up in Atlantic and graduated from Atlantic High School in 1983. She was always a dancer and cheerleader growing up and loved traveling to Shreveport, Louisiana to visit family.
Lee Ann met her husband Bruce Allan Hansen in 1984 and was united in marriage at the First Baptist Church in Atlantic, Iowa on March 23, 1985, and they resided north of Atlantic. Bruce loved his “Lu Lu” and was blessed with the birth of their daughter Christina Sue and son Brett Austin. Lee Ann always had a passion for cosmetology and went to school at Hair by Stewarts in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Lee Ann continued her 27-year career at Spurgeons, The Kutting Krew, and Unique Salon & Spa in Atlantic.
Lee Ann enjoyed raising her two children and catering to their every need. This would include shuttling them around to all sorts of activities and sporting events. She never missed a single event and was always supportive of everything they did. She enjoyed doing all the bookwork for the businesses and never skipped a beat. Lee Ann was famous for remembering the date, time, and what the temperature was at any memorable event or experience. Lee Ann loved her grandchildren and was known as “Nana” by Brendan and Claire, and “NeNe” by Bristol. Don’t dare call her “Grandma”, because she was not “old”.
Left to cherish LeeAnn’s memory are her husband Bruce Hansen of Atlantic; her daughter Chrissy Wilke and husband Greg of Atlantic; her son Brett Hansen and wife Shelby of Council Bluffs; one brother Doug Morgan of Council Bluffs; three grandchildren Brendan Wilke, Claire Wilke, and Bristol Hansen; along with many other relatives and friends.
Preceding Lee Ann in death are her parents Bill and Marge Morgan; In-Laws Allan and Rosie Hansen.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, with luncheon to follow all held at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home, Atlantic, IA. Interment at a later date at the Atlantic Cemetery.
Open visitation with family present will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2022, at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home, Atlantic, IA.
Memorials may be directed to the Hansen Family and will be designated at a later date to some of her favorite local charities, may be left or mailed to the Schmidt Family Funeral Home
