(Chariton) Officials from the Iowa DNR closed Red Haw State in Chariton due to extensive storm damage. Officials say the campground sustained extensive damage, where one person died, and another person suffered injuries. Additionally, significant damage to the beach area includes the boat docks, the Bait House, beach shelters, and a storage building.
The park is currently without power. Officials ask the public to keep away from the area while crews clean up debris and make repairs.
