Jonas Damian Schnack, age 47, of Waverly, IA, formerly of Harlan, IA, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022, in Waverly, IA.
Jonas Damian Schnack was born May 10th, 1974, to Vernon and Patricia Schnack. When Jonas was attending school, he loved to play basketball. He then graduated in 1992. Other activities include hunting rabbits, raccoons, and pheasants with his dad Vernon and brother Jason.
Jonas started working in Fareway in Harlan in 1991. He moved from Harlan to Des Moines, Spirit Lake, and Ames stores before becoming an assistant in Waukee in 1998. He was also an assistant at the Fareway store Oelwein. Jonas later became a manager in 2006 at the Sheldon Fareway store, where he was there for two years before settling in Waverly, IA. By that time, he had three kids Caden, Chace, and Carson. He loved spending time with the kids hunting, boating, and riding four-wheelers. Jonas also enjoyed spending time going to his boys’ football and soccer games. He was an avid lover of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Iowa State Cyclones, where he made several trips to both Kansas City and Ames to watch the games.
Jonas is survived by his three boys Caden, Chace, and Carson of Waverly, IA; his mother Patricia Schnack of Council Bluffs, IA; siblings Jason Schnack of Walnut, IA, Jennifer (Brian) Langer of Walnut; a nephew Brody Langer and niece Ella Langer both of Walnut, IA; grandfather Robert Plagman of Minden, IA, and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Proceeded in death by his father Vernon from Harlan in 2013.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 1:30 p.m., with visitation from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Walnut Community Center in Walnut, IA. Memorials may be directed to the family and may be mailed to the Schmidt Family Funeral Home P.O. Box 523, Atlantic, IA 50022
