(Atlantic) Cindy Axne, U.S. Representative for Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District, discussed a couple of bills she is a part of during a town hall meeting in Atlantic Wednesday evening.
Axne said one bill that just went into action is the Surprise Medical Billing Act.
Another bill Axne is working on focuses on police organizations that are 200 people and under so they have greater access to funding.
Axne said the bill will help recruit officers through higher pay, retention bonuses, and support for education, there is support for de-escalation training, mental health support for police officers and administrative staff, and support for body cameras.
