Cynthia (Cindy) Sarsfield, 68, of Atlantic, IA, died Monday, February 21, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with cancer.
She was born October 25, 1953, in Atlantic, the daughter of Donald and Shirley (Butler) Nolte. Cindy was married in Atlantic and attended school there.
Cindy and Royce Sarsfield were united in marriage on January 24, 1970, in Atlantic. She was a stay-at-home mother and a devoted wife. Cindy enjoyed gardening and canning vegetables from her garden. Most of all, she treasured time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Cindy was proceeded in death by her husband, Royce Sarsfield; parents, Donald and Shirley Nolte; parents-in-law, Harold Sarsfield and Juanita McIntosh; brother-in-law’s Dennis (Bud) Hogueison, William (Bill) Hogueison, Paul Hogueison (in infancy); sister-in-law Marie Huisenga; and step-grandson Christopher Griffiths.
Surviving Cindy is her children, Shawn (Melissa) Sarsfield of Atlantic, IA, Jodi (Chris) Ammon of Meckling, SD, Aaron Sarsfield of Atlantic, IA, Rachel (Steve) Griffiths of Atlantic, IA, step-daughter Shelly (Mike) Baumhover of Sac City, IA; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; brothers, Tom (Nancy) Nolte of Grasslake, MI, Keith (Nancy) Nolte of Atlantic, IA, Dan Nolte of Loveland, CO; Sisters, Linda (Leland) Lensch of Elliott, IA, Denise Klever of Atlantic, IA; Sister-in-law Twila (Howard) Christensen of Wiota, IA; brother-in-law, Bob (Carol) Hogueison of Kimballton, IA; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Open visitation with family present will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 25, 2022, at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Atlantic, IA. Burial will take place at the Atlantic Cemetery.
