(Anita) IKM-Manning and CAM engaged in a tight, low scoring battle Monday night in the first round of Class 1A postseason play. When the dust settled the Wolves claimed a 46-44 overtime win to advance to the District 15 semifinals on Thursday.
Luke Ramsey made the Wolves a winner with his clutch shot near the free-throw line in the final seconds of overtime. Amos Rasmussen led IKM-Manning with 12 points and Ross Kusel joined him in double figures with 10. CAM’s high scorer was Colby Rich with 21. Seth Hensley added 9. Rich hit a 3-pointer with :38 left in regulation that tied the game at 40. In OT, the Cougars took the first lead at 42-40, but the Wolves responded with four straight points. Cade Ticknor tied the game with a pair of big free-throws, leading to Ramsey’s heroics.
CAM’s 5-0 lead in the first quarter was the largest advantage for either side all night. IKM-Manning held quarter leads of 10-9, 20-19, and 31-30.
IKM-Manning will take a 7-15 record into Thursday’s postseason matchup with Exira-EHK. CAM ends their season at 14-8.
