(Des Moines) Iowa House District 21 Representative Tom Moore said the Iowa House held its first floor debate of the year.
Moore said they passed the Biofuel infrastructure bill with bi-partisan support on a vote of 81-10.
In other news, Moore said there has been a few bills introduced that will help resolve the teacher shortage issue in Iowa. HSB 632 and HF 2085 will create new licensure alternatives for teachers.
HF 208 eliminates the exam that teachers have to take between graduation and certification. HF2083 expands the Iowa Scholar Program to open the eligibility for teachers who apply for grants. HF 2158 allows student teachers to also serve as substitute teachers.
