(Cass Co.) Free Suicide Prevention Training will be held in Atlantic, Anita and Griswold this month.
Brigham Hoegh, Cass County Wellness Coordinator, said Healthy Cass County, Cass County ISU Extension and other individuals and organizations across the county are partnering to bring the “Question. Persuade. Refer.” (QPR) program to the area.
Hoegh said Mental Health was identified as the top health need in last year’s 2021 Cass County Community Health Needs Assessment.
Hoegh said these trainings would be excellent for all adults in Cass County. The QPR session are being offered at no cost thanks to a grant from the USDA-NIFA that provides this training for free for rural communities with large populations of farmers and agricultural related businesses.

QPR sessions will be held in Atlantic on February 14 from Noon to 1:00 p.m. at the Cass County Community Center (hosted in partnership with the Atlantic Public Library); in Anita on February 15 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Anita Community Center (hosted in partnership with Anita Public Library and Anita Health and Wellness Center); and in Griswold on February 21 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Griswold Public Library (hosted in partnership with Griswold Public Library).
