(Harlan) On Tuesday, the Shelby County Board of Supervisors approved the Compensation Board’s salary recommendation for elected officials for the next fiscal year on July 1, 2022.  According to the minutes, the compensation board recommended a 16-percent salary increase for Sheriff Neil Gross and a five percent increase for all other elected officials.
The supervisors approved the following salary adjustments:
*Auditor-$64,858
*Attorney-$66,124
*Recorder-$64,858
*Sheriff-$95,222
*Supervisors-$33,143
*Supervisors-Chair-$33,893
*Treasurer-$65,274
The Supervisors and County Attorney are part-time but qualify for full-time benefits; longevity does not apply to the Supervisors, and Attorney are part-time but qualify for full-time benefits.
Additionally, the Shelby County Board of Supervisors appointed Sheriff Neil Gross and Deputy Richard Bielenberg as Deputy County Officials.
