(Corning) The Creston Panthers are in front with 94 points, but Winterset is right on their heels with 87 at the John J. Harris Wrestling Tournament hosted by SW Valley.
Creston’s first day included sending eight into the semifinals. They were especially stout in the lighter weights with wrestlers on the front side of the bracket at five of the first six weight classes. Winterset still has eight individuals in contention for a title as well.
Atlantic/CAM sits in 3rd with 68.5 points, followed by Clarinda and Nodaway Valley/O-M in the top five.
The Trojans have Aiden Smith (106), Ethan Follmann (126), Easton O’Brien (132), Kadin Stutzman (170), Jarrett Armstrong (182), and Miles Mundorf (220) in the semifinals. Still alive on the back side of the bracket are Taye Jordan (113), Cruz Weaver (120), Dante Hedrington (138), Tanner O’Brien (152), Owen Hoover (160), Brenden Casey (195), and Nathan Keiser (285).
