(Griswold) The Noble Initiative Foundation is pleased to announce that they received a Child Care Challenge Award, part of the $36.6 million initiative to spur child care across the state by Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds. The foundation will receive $236,735 from the Investment by Iowans through the Child Care Challenge and an additional $250,000 from the Child Care Challenge Grant for a total of $486,725.
Obtaining these funds is the first step towards building a childcare development center in Griswold. The center will provide year-round child care, including full-time, drop-in, and before/after school care. The center will be located south of the Griswold Elementary School and designed with four childcare rooms to accommodate children ranging from 6 weeks old to 4 years old, including a separate area for before and after school care.
Currently, the Noble Initiative Foundation is in the process of an aggressive $2.3 million capital campaign to complete the construction of the facility.
“With this award, we have $856,000 committed or about 37% of the campaign goal raised. Once the campaign reaches 70% raised, there will be a public campaign drive,” shared Jared Wyman, Noble Initiative Foundation Board President. “Childcare is a huge need in our area, and weʼre excited to kick start the campaign with this grant and an outpouring of community support.”
Get involved with this community-wide initiative by donating your time and expertise on one of the committees. There are currently 30 volunteers spread amongst the following committees Facilities, Policies/Procedures and Finance/Operations, Communications, Foundations and Grants, Recognition, and Resource Development. The Foundation is looking for several more volunteers to fill roles as passionate solicitors for advance, family, major, and community level gis.
