(Atlantic) Tonight’s matchup between the Harlan and Atlantic boys’ basketball teams has a unique twist. First-year Atlantic Head Coach Derek Hall is coaching against his younger brother Aiden Hall, a junior on the Harlan squad.
Coach Hall says not many coaches experience this type of matchup in their careers.
Coach Hall says the game comes to rebounding and taking care of the basketball. Hall says Harlan is a patient team and will execute their opponents to death in the half-court. He says Harlan doesn’t make very many mistakes, and teams must capitalize on them when they do.
So far this season, Harlan is allowing their opponents to an average of 49-points a game. Coach Hall points to the Cyclones’ size and athleticism as the reason for their success.
Coach Hall says his team’s perimeter defense is improving.
The Trojans average 57-points per game on offense and allow on average 56-points per outing. Harlan is averaging 63-points per game and allows an average of 49-points per game.
