(Greenfield) Nodaway Valley/O-M posted their highest Pride of Iowa Conference Tournament finish in recent memory with their 2nd place showing at home on Friday night. They were 6th in each of the prior two seasons.
The Wolverines posted 176.5 points, edged only by Bedford/Lenox’s 209. Elliot Cooney pinned his way through the 132 pound bracket. The senior is 23-1 on the season. Jaxon Christensen followed suit with three pins to win top honors at 138. He’s 18-5 this year. Zackery Gebbie (126), Jevin Christensen (145), Caelen DeVault (182), and Adam Ayase (195) all placed 2nd. Earning 3rd place in the conference were Kasen Hansen (113), Bradley Gebbie (120), and Trenton Warner (285).
Team champ Bedford/Lenox sent seven to the finals and crowned four champions. Winners in their weight class were Colby Nelson (120), Conner Fitzgerald (145), Jake Cox (182), and Devin Whipple (285)
