(Anita) KSOM’s Friday night basketball coverage features the CAM Cougars hosting Boyer Valley. We’ll have the games on the radio with pregame coverage at 5:45 along with video through this link: CAM vs Boyer Valley
The CAM girls are 5-2 on the season. They beat West Harrison 61-16 on Tuesday. Coach Joe Wollum says his team’s passing was the best part of the win. “The way we shared the basketball. We were able to get out on the break and in transition. We were throwing some great passes to each other. We shot the ball really well from 3 in the first half.”
Coach Wollum says Boyer Valley plays an up-tempo style. “They like to play really fast. That’s what really pops out at you. They score a lot of points. They have some skilled players. They play a lot of girls too. They’ll try to make it a track meet.”
The 5-1 CAM boys were a winner their last time out with a 48-45 overtime decision over West Harrison. It came on the heels of their first loss of the season last Friday. “Our boys came in with a good clear head ready for a couple of good days of practice before that. They responded very nicely. They stuck to the game plan on defense and we came out on top. We had a big shot by Colby Rich and a steal by Cale Maas that helped us seal it up.”
Head coach Ian Hunt takes a look at Boyer Valley. “They have a lot of athletes and they bring a good energy on defense. “We are going to have to take care of the ball and hit shots. They are going to try and space us out and attack the rim and kick out for three’s.”
The girls game tips at 6:00 and the boys game will follow.
