(Atlantic) Atlantic Schools Superintendent Steve Barber is looking into the possibility of providing staff with a retention incentive using Elementary and Secondary Emergency Relief Funds. Barber says before this can happen, the district needs to ensure this expense would be allowed for teacher incentive money.
Barber discussed the issue at Wednesday’s school board meeting. gain. Again, Barber and Business Manager Sarah Sheeder are working with the school attorney, school auditor, and Iowa Department of education to determine if this is allowable.
