(Audubon) Audubon County Zoning Administrator Chris Hemmingsen appeared in front of the Board of Supervisors Tuesday morning.
Hemmingsen provided an update on the Comprehensive Plan and 2021 Zoning. She also passed along information on permits. “Last year though July in construction change use permits. Everyone calls them building permits, but in our county they are construction change use permits, we did $13,057.50 last fiscal 2021.”
Hemmingsen admits the number of permits are on the rise again after riding out a price increase for materials. Additionally, several of these permits were related to wind turbines. “$8,300 is wind towers and buildings and different things. There’s also a big one from MidAmerican. Those are a couple that we won’t see every year.” She says most are in the $30 over $100 range.
24 wind turbines will be updated this spring with new blades and generators.
