(Atlantic) There are just a few days left to vote in the Mayoral runoff election.
Tim Teig and Grace Garrett, the top two vote-getters in the November 2 election, are in a runoff for the Mayoral seat. Teig received 523-votes, or 42.45-percent, and Garrett, 463 votes, or 37.58-percent out of four candidates running in the general election earlier this month. Both failed to get the required 50-plus one majority vote to secure the position, so the two candidates ran head-to-head.
The two candidates had this to say when asked, as Mayor, how would you use your position, City Staff, and community leaders to move forward progressively? Tim Teig, a former Atlantic Mayor and lifelong Atlantic resident points towards leadership as his main focus.
City Councilmember Grace Garrett says communication and working with others are two critical components of the mayor’s position.
